About us

Why we built Movie Knight

I'm a dad of three with a terrible memory for what's actually in a movie. Too often I'd put on a film I loved as a kid and then sit there wincing — the language in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, a romance scene that the plot never needed, a joke that lands very differently with a seven-year-old in the room.

I went looking for a resource that would reliably tell me what I was walking into, in plain language, before movie night started. I couldn't find one I trusted. So, at the nudging of some friends at work, I helped build Movie Knight.

Every family guide here is written by us, in our own voice — what's in the film, how old a kid probably needs to be, and where you can actually watch it. No scraped reviews, no scores you have to decode. Every man's home is his castle; we'd just like to help you know what's coming through the gate.

I hope it puts a little light out into the world and helps you feel like the parent you aspire to be when the lights go down.
