There’s a scene in “Beyond The Medal” I liked the most where Private First Class Gino Merli's machine gun position is completely overrun by German soldiers : And you assume he has been killed in action. The fallen soldier was actually Merli bravely faking his own death. He also appears in a scene where enemy troops prod his supposedly lifeless body with their bayonets before he jumps back up to ambush them. Having the sheer nerves of steel to play dead turns out to be a good source of surprise attacks.
Beyond the Medal is a good series that tells the real life stories of recipient's Medal of Honor to the screen, highlighting their courage, sacrifice, and showing the personal journeys of the people involved in. I'd recommend it to people who enjoy historical movie stories, involves military, and stories that shows the strength of the human who believe in themselves.
