Young David

Have you ever watched a movie that makes you feel like a kid again? Sitting down to watch the Young David movie did exactly that for me. It took me right back to my Sunday school days, sitting in those small chairs and looking at bright picture books. When I was a child, I loved the story of David. I was amazed by how this normal, young boy was brave enough to protect his sheep from wild animals. Watching this movie brought back that feeling of wonder. It shows exactly how brave he was and why we still tell this story today. The movie does a great job of showing the real Bible verses we learned when we were young. It perfectly paints the picture of the true courage talked about in 1 Samuel 17:34-35: "But David said to Saul, 'Your servant has been keeping his father's sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I caught it by its hair, struck it and killed it.'" Seeing his bravery on screen makes the old story feel very real. Parents are loving it, too. I recently spoke my sister, now she is a mother of two. She told me, "It gave my kids a hero who is just like them-young and normal, but uses his faith to beat scary things." It is a wonderful way for parents to talk with their kids about being brave when they face their own big problems. The Young David movie is more than just a happy memory for those of us who grew up going to church. It is a great reminder that being a hero does not start with being a king. It starts with doing your job well and being brave when no one else is watching. This movie is a must-watch, proving that the lessons of courage we learn as kids are always worth remembering.

From the movie Little David, I learned that David was brave, prayerful, and trusted God. He protected his father's sheep when a lion attacked and prayed when one of the sheep got lost. This reminded me that God hears our prayers and helps us when we trust Him. I also learned that God can use anyone for His purpose, just as He chose David, who was only a young shepherd. I enyoyed watching.

I really enjoyed Young David. It’s a simple but inspiring story about David growing up and finding the courage to face challenges bigger than himself. I liked the message about faith, courage, and believing in yourself. Definitely a good one to watch with the family.
