Faith of Angels

I finally watched Faith of Angels and wow. I had no idea it was a real story until when I finished, which probably made it worse because I spent the whole thing actually scared for this kid. Ten years old, lost in some abandoned mine in Utah, and everyone's out there searching for him. Those tunnel scenes? they were tense man!. John is really good as the guy who won't stop looking even when nobody wants him around, but honestly it was the dad that got me. Kirby just has this look on his face the whole movie like he's dying inside, and it felt so real. Yeah, it gets a bit preachy in places and it drags a little in the middle, I won't pretend it doesn't But it was a great movie. Really glad I watched it.

From the character John... I learned that even a small amount of faith, when combined with determination, can help us achieve things we thought were impossible. Most of the people, including authorities, had lost hope of ever finding Joshua, but John listened to that inner voice. Life can be hard, but if we keep believing, stay strong, and keep trying, we can overcome challenges and keep moving forward.

Faith of Angels. In it, Sheriff Proctor seems like this hope-killing skeptic. He has no imagination and is always a buzz-kill. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized he is actually a fantastic leader, who actually protects his community. He shows caution and concern when it counts and is firm when he needs to be. Sure, he is stubborn as hell as many authority figures are. But he was still doing a great job keeping untrained civilians from getting hurt in a dangerous, pitch-black mine. This world would be a better place if there were more Sheriff Proctors in it.
